Today's state of the rumor/leak mill has managed to take the fun of anticipation almost out completely from upcoming flagship smartphone launches. What at one point in time used to be a source of anticipation among industry followers all around, has now been reduced to an expectation of specifications and features. That being said, some more information about Samsung's Galaxy S7 has surfaced today in the form of a performance benchmarks running the Snapdragon 820 variant of the smartphone. Lets take a look to see how well the device (allegedly) fares.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Scores 125288 Points On Antutu; Topping Predecessor Significantly
Today, we've managed to get our hands on some alleged benchmark scores of the Samsung Galaxy S7, straight out of China. The device's predecessor, the Galaxy S6 was one of the top performing smartphone of the Android, and the smartphone world in general so Samsung has quite the bar to beat with this year's device.
But it looks like the Korean manufacturer is on the right track, as the Samsung Galaxy S7 has allegedly been able to score 125288 points on Antutu. The processor running under the hood is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820, which itself has quite a bit of expectations placed on it, given the Snapdragon 810's famous throttling issues.
Even more impressive is the graphics and 3D performance of the device, which you can see for yourself in the scores given above. Qualcomm seems to be on the right track not only for the Snapdragon 820, but also the Adreno 530, which shouldn't be a surprise given the US company's general prowess with mobile GPUs.
The specifications which have been listed for the Samsung Galaxy S7 alongside today's benchmark scores are more or less what we've been telling you over the past couple of months. The device has been listed with the Snapdragon 820 on board, combined with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage on board.
Screen size, as expected stands at 5.1 inches with 2560 x 1440 resolution and camera specifications stand at a toned down 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Maybe we'll finally get to see Samsung take a different approach with the Galaxy S lineup's camera this time around.
But what's of critical importance is the device's overall software interface and should Samsung manage to improve its TouchWiz interface for the Galaxy S7, combined with improved power requirements then we could see an impressive launch this year indeed.
