As the smartphone world becomes increasingly competitive day by day, manufacturers often find themselves in a bind as far as upgrades and new feature additions are concerned. With the upcoming launches of Samsung's Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, LG's G5 and Xiaomi's Mi5, the stage is set once again for each company to prove its mettle and show everyone what new upgrades and features it has brought on the table. As far as the Samsung Galaxy S7 is concerned, we've been hearing about a couple of unique features and today there's some more mention of waterproofing and an always-on display for the flagship smartphone.

Samsung Posts Video Teasing Waterproofing For Galaxy S7 As Always On Display Gets Another Mention

As we head towards MWC in Barcelona, there's little more that can be speculated about the Samsung Galaxy S7. The flagship smartphone is expected to feature all the goodies that you'd come to expect from a top tier device and the mobile world is finely attuned to Samsung's upcoming event in Barcelona.

The Korean electronics giant is adding further fuel to the fire in the form of some teaser/advertisement videos, one of which you can take a look at above. Judging by the video we should definitely expect some sort of focus towards waterproofing on the Galaxy S7 by Samsung, and if we're lucky, the device might come with a complete waterproofing certification. What impact will that have on its aesthetics will only be known once Samsung's all done with its Unpacked event.

In today's second bit of news, we see the Russian tipster Eldar Murtazin return, this time with some information on the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge's alleged Always-on feature. This feature is expected to continuously provide users with key facts and information, regardless of device usage. So you'd expect your Galaxy S7 Edge in particular to display alerts, notifications and more throughout the day, adding quite a bit to the device's overall functionality.

Only four days are left until the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge are officially unveiled by the Korean manufacturers at the sidelines of MWC. Specification wise, both the devices will be a tough pair to beat as we're expecting the Snapdragon 820/Exynos 8890, 4GB RAM, Dual-PD 12MP rear camera sensors and more on them, which coupled with waterproofing and always-on should make them well rounded off offerings.
