HTC M10, which is being called HTC 10, is definitely going to come running the latest version of Android Marshmallow, but it looks like we might not get to see the handset running Windows 10 Mobile. We can think of several reasons why this is possible.
HTC M10 Could Not Receive Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile Possibly Due To The Latter’s Lack Of Seriousness Towards The Platform
Where Microsoft has given the right amount of attention to the desktop side of things, its mobile version of Windows 10 looks unfinished. Additionally, due to the lack of app support for Windows 10 Mobile, it looks like HTC M10, or just HTC 10 has reportedly not be coming in a Windows 10 Mobile version. Looking at the company’s current financial state, where the smartphone market is being dominated by firms like Xiaomi and Huawei, HTC is finding it difficult to stay alive, but somehow continues to do so.
Known leakster Evan Blass is not too convinced that the smartphone will be arriving in a Windows 10 Mobile version. One of the biggest problem that we have had with HTC so far is with their pricing strategy. Sure, their build quality of devices are without question one of the best that we have seen in high-end flagships, but very rarely do you see consumers hypnotized by build qualities and more towards the pricing of the device.

When the company announced its A9 smartphone, we were appalled with its pricing, and perhaps the only saving grace of the phone was that you would receive software updates just two weeks after they were officially available for Google’s Nexus lineup. The remaining specifications of the handset include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820. The processor has a dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo and a dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo configuration and the SoC has been manufactured on the 14nm FinFET LPP process. In short, you will be experiencing a ton of performance and energy efficiency from the upcoming handset.
In fact, we are confident that the overall performance is not going to slow down on account of the smartphone sporting a QHD display, or in other words, a 1440p display. HTC has limited its high-end devices from being incorporated with a 1440p resolution, but looking at the rise of other devices rocking a 2K resolution, looks the Taiwanese manufacturer has also given in. Apart from looking pleasing to the naked eye, that is if you pay that much attention, having a 2K display on a smartphone or tablet screen will drain your rapidly; even more so if you are engaged in running intensive mobile gaming apps on it.
While corporate clients and other employees would definitely want a Windows 10 Mobile version of HTC M10 (keep in mind that the device is going to be sporting very impressive hardware), it looks like it is not going to be on the cards, unless of course the Taiwanese firm has something else to say about it.
