tvOS 9.2 Beta 6 Now Available For Download

At the start of this week, Apple released a bunch of beta software for its devices, with iOS 9.3 beta 6, OS X 10.11.4 beta 6 and watchOS 2.2 beta 6 being the order of the day. But what was missing from the picture was the sixth beta of tvOS 9.2, which has been released for Apple TV 4 users as well today.

tvOS 9.2 beta 6 brings with it a bunch of useful features to the big screen, such as the ability to create folders, Siri dictation in certain places, as well as the ability to search the App Store for apps and games using the power of Siri. All in all it's a solid upgrade which is bound to see the light of day very soon.

Given that we are sitting on the sixth beta of tvOS 9.2, it's highly likely that this download is a pure bug fix and performance enhancing release. Nonetheless you should update to the latest build right away if you have an Apple TV 4 unit running prior pre-release tvOS 9.2 software.

Simply go to the Settings app on your Apple TV 4, and download the latest build from the System section of tvOS. The update will barely take a few minutes to download and install and we highly recommend that you do not touch your device during the update process.

If you just signed up as a developer, then you can grab tvOS 9.2 beta from Apple's Developer Program website. Keep in mind that an Apple Developer Program costs $99 per year, but we're certain you know about that already.

Given that Apple has announced its March 21st media event, therefore it's highly likely that we will see the final version of its mobile software right after the event, if not before it.

Apple TV 4 packs powerful hardware which will definitely be utilized to its fullest as we move into the future. tvOS 9.2 is a pure sign in which direction the Cupertino giant is taking its set-top box, and we're certain that the train won't simply stop there, and there's a long way to go in terms of features which the company will be adding to its newfound device.

We highly recommend developers to go ahead and update their software right away to keep things ticking along nicely. Also, if Apple has slipped in something new under the hood, we'll definitely highlight it here, so stay tuned to our coverage.
