Intel Core i7 990X Extreme Edition Processor to be released in Q4 2010.

Intel has started working on its new high end six core processor which is based on its 32nm "Gulftown" design, The Core i7 990X Extreme Edition. Like the other high end processors of Extreme Edition Series the 990X will feature a higher default BClk multiplier which will make the Clock Speed of the CPU higher and the CPU will feature the same Unlocked BClk multiplier like the Core i7 980X Extreme Edition. With Tri-channel DDR3 Integrated memory controller and a whooping 12Mb of L3 cache its one Extreme processor, featuring six-cores on a monolithic die.

The new release date of the CPU is Q4 2010 which was said earlier to be launched in Q1 2011. Other than 990X Core i7 970 is also said to be released before the 990X and will be positioned in the upper performance segment. The Core i7 970 is said to be released in Q3 2010.
