The upcoming FPS from Boss Key Productions, Lawbreakers, will no longer be free-to-play (F2P) and is now exclusive to Steam at launch. Furthermore, the game's system requirements have been revealed, and the title will support DX12.
Boss Key founder, Cliff Bleszinski, and his team announced the news during a panel at the Game Developers Conference. According Bleszinski, the F2P model didn’t “fit” with the game any longer.
“As the game continued to take shape, we realised free-to-play wasn’t the right fit for what we’re building,” explained Bleszinski. “LawBreakers is a competitive game at heart and that means balance is a big priority to me, my team, and our community. Using a digital premium model helps ensure an even playing field by giving fans access to every available role without any barriers.”

Lawbreakers a timed Steam exclusive and a GTX 970 is recommended
During the panel it was announced that the shooter will now be exclusive to Steam when it releases. The game’s Steam page is up, and mentions a release this summer.
The Lawbreaker’s steam page also reveals the game’s minimum and recommended system requirements. We have included both down below.

As can be seen, Boss Key Productions recommends quite the amount of memory – 16GB. In general, modern titles would only require around 8GB of Ram, and we wonder why this hefty amount would be required.
