Google Released Gboard Keyboard For iPhone With Built-In Search And Gesture Typing

The App Store is full of third-party keyboards and everyone of them deems to bring their host special feature. However, not all of them are useful in day to day working. Surprisingly, Google today released a new keyboard for iPhone called Gboard that has the ability to to make web searches right from the keyboard. So, lets dig in and see what more features are added in Google's keyboard.

Gboard Provides Built-In Search Functionality With Glide Typing

Previously, iPhone users had to close a specific messaging app and make a web search. With Google's new Gboard keyboard, you can directly make search from within the messaging app itself without any need to close it. Moreover, Gboard also gives you the ability to share the search results with the specific someone in the conversation. So in short, the overall messaging experience is now way more streamlined and easy.

As can be seen in the video below, the 'G' shortcut in the keyboard symbolizes the Google search. All you have to do is tap on it and quickly make a Google search. As a cherry on top, you can also search for GIFs, addresses, emojis and much more. For those of you wondering how the search results will be displayed, they are shown in a card-like view that displays the most important piece of information in the middle. To send the specific information, simply tap on it.

It's this simple and definitely does not require you to shift between apps. Now you can send any kind of information to the person you are having a conversation with. Apart from this, Gboard also features Glide typing. Glide typing allows you to swipe your fingers across the keyboard and type the word you want. The typing experience is considerably faster than other third party apps on the App Store. So its definitely good to see it part of the keyboard.

According to the company itself, the Gboard keyboard works on all iPhone apps that includes the stock messages app, email app as well as the YouTube app. If you have other internet messaging apps installed on your iPhone, Gboard has got you covered on that as well. Gboard is now available on the App Store for free. Currently, it only has support for English, but by the passage of time more languages will be added.
