Dying Light developer, Techland, is working on 2 “huge” new games, one of them being a fantasy title with open-world RPG elements. The other title is speculated to be Dying Light 2.

Techland’s open-world survival horror game, Dying Light, was released last year and quickly became the most successful title to date for the Polish studio. As of August 2015 the game has sold more than 5 million copies.

Whether Techland will release a sequel to Dying Light remains speculation, but Techland’s founder and CEO, Pawel Marchewka, has just confirmed that the studio is working on 2 “huge” new games, scheduled to be released within the next 2 years. Speaking to website Gamepressure, Marchewka stated that the total budget for both titles will be around $77 million:

I would like to share some good news with all the fans of Techland’s games: we’re currently working on not one, but two new titles. We estimate their total budget to be around USD 77 million, so these will be so-called AAA games. In order to give the teams working on these projects creative independence, each project is being developed in a different place. The first one is created by the Wroclaw-based studio, and the second one is being made by Techland Warszawa. Techland’s third studio, which is based in Vancouver, is providing technological support for both titles.

Our main target is to give the gamers two huge titles within the next two years that will be even more successful than Dying Light. I assure you that they are worth the wait!

During the Speaking Dragons game conference in Kraków, Gamepressure managed to question Techland’s CEO about these two “huge” new titles. As it turns out, one of them will be a fantasy game with a big, open-world with RPG elements. The other new project is speculated to be Dying Light 2.

Hopefully, more about these two “huge” new projects will be revealed during the upcoming E3 in June.
