iPhone 7 Could No Longer Be Available To Purchase In A 64GB Model Either – What Will Replace It?

The iPhone 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 are two devices which have been a regular feature of the news lately. As we enter summer, both Apple and Samsung are expected to unveil their flagship mobile devices later this year, with the usual host of performance upgrades and features. The iPhone 7 is expected to get several changes this year as we see Apple's flagship smartphone move towards the next iteration in its nomenclature and to that end we've seen a lot of information surface already. Today, some more case renders of the iPhone 7 have surfaced, which confirm everything that you'd find floating around in the rumor mill so far.

Leaked iPhone 7 And iPhone 7 Plus Case Renderings Show Host Of Features Including Dual Camera

Judging by the whispering of the rumor mill so far, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus will be quite different from 2015's flagship smartphone launches from Apple, which failed to maintain the strong growth momentum the device had been enjoying for nearly a decade. But as the smartphone market finally matures, and Apple starts to make moves into other spheres such as software based services, the iPhone isn't quite what it used to be.

A consistent yearly upgrade cycle, combined with the increased influence of the rumor mill has made flagship gadget launches, whether they originate in the Android or the iOS world a rather mundane affair. Detailed specifications and features of these gadgets are known well before their launches and in some cases, like the HTC One M9 last year, we've seen entire devices leak before their launches, leaving little for the element of surprise in these affairs.

To that effect, some more case renderings of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus have surfaced today, which fall in line neatly with everything that we've been telling you so far. Start by taking a look at the image about and you'll see that both a smart connector and a dual camera are present for the iPhone 7 Plus, so Apple's really serious this time to further differentiate the 4.7 and 5.5 inch variants of the iPhone lineup. However, one discrepancy that today's case renders of the iPhone 7 come with is the absence of stacked camera lens and flash; a feature that has made it on the device previously.

Such a change should help the company entice more users away from the Android camp, a trend that Apple's been eager to build on, ever since the launch of the iPhone 6 Plus, nearly two years back. The iPhone 6 Plus was very popular at the time of its launch and strong sales of the handset were able to silence quite a bit of critics who claimed Apple was moving away from the Jobs' era's core principle of small screened devices.

Another feature that both the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus have been rumored to eliminate is the 3.5mm earphone jack. This will mean that a lot of headphones out there will no longer be compatible with the iPhone and you'll be forced to look for either Bluetooth or Lightning connectivity for you audio extensions on both the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.

But while this removal of the 3.5 mm jack won't do any wonders for the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus' external connectivity, it should add a nice design touch to the bottom of both the devices, and fall in nicely with Apple's mantra of simplicity and minimalism. Only two months are left until we get to see Apple launch this year's iPhones so things should become clear quite soon. Till then, stay tuned for the WWDC and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
