ASUS Unveils Powerful ROG Rampage V Edition 10 and ROG STRIX X99 Gaming Motherboards For Broadwell-E

ASUS has shown off their latest ROG X99 series motherboards designed for the Intel Broadwell-E family at the Computex 2016 conference. During the event, ASUS unveiled several products aimed at gamers and enthusiasts which ranged from new ROG series boards, ROG graphics cards and ROG branded gaming PCs. All products are part of the ASUS ROG family which are dedicated to the gaming community.

ASUS ROG Lineup Expands With Ultimate ROG Rampage V Edition 10 and ROG STRIX X99 Gaming Motherboards

In their new ROG lineup, ASUS introduced the latest ROG X99 series motherboards. These include the latest flag ship motherboard known as the ROG Rampage V Edition 10 and also the more budget optimized ROG STRIX X99 Gaming motherboard. Both motherboard feature the highest grade components along with the ASUS Aura RGB design scheme which gives a totally new look to the latest motherboard series.

ASUS ROG Rampage V Edition 10 Motherboard ($599 US):

The ASUS ROG Rampage V Edition 10 motherboard is a class apart with a next generation Rampage design that is geared at Broadwell-E processors. The ASUS ROG Rampage V Edition 10 motherboard is the new flagship of the X99 motherboard lineup which will be available on retail soon at a price of $599 US. The motherboard has a beautiful design with 5 RGB illumination points that can be adjust by user.

With a $599 MSRP, the Rampage V Edition 10 is reserved for elite rigs. But that’s appropriate, because the LGA 2011-v3 platform is all about pushing the limits of what can be squeezed into a desktop PC. The Edition 10 is the culmination of a decade of ROG motherboards, and it more than lives up to its heritage. via ASUS

The motherboard features an 8 Phase Digi+ III VRM which is powered by a 8+4 Pin power connector. The board has a total of eight DDR4 DIMM slots which are capable to run memory with speeds of up to 3333 MHz (O.C+). Expansion slots include four PCI-e 3.0 x16 (x16/x8/x16/x8 electrical), a single PCI-e x4 and a single PCI-e x1 slot. There's also a single M.2 slot right next to the 24-Pin ATX power connector. It is interesting to note that PCI-e expansion slots come with small LEDs that can also be configured using RGB effects. Storage options include 10 SATA III and a single U.2 port.

The I/O on the motherboard is quite extensive with four 10Gbps USB 3.1 ports (2 Type-A and 2 Type-C), Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi with a 3×3 antenna and built-in Bluetooth, CMOS / BIOS set buttons, 4 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 port and a 7.1 channel audio jack which is powered by ASUS SupremeFX III chipset.

ASUS ROG STRIX X99 Gaming Motherboard ($339 US):

The ROG STRIX X99 Gaming is another entrant in the ROG family of motherboards. The ROG STRIX X99 Gaming comes with the monochrome theme which ASUS has started using as of recently and looks splendid. The motherboard uses an orange and black color scheme which gives the copper touch to this product. The product comes with RGB lightning so users can change the colors over the I/O panel and internal heatsink lightning with ease.

The motherboard features an 8 Phase Digi+ III VRM which is powered by a 8+4 Pin power connector. The board has a total of eight DDR4 DIMM slots which are capable to run memory with speeds of up to 3333 MHz (O.C+). Expansion slots include four PCI-e 3.0 x16 (x16/x8/x16/x8 electrical), two PCI-e 3.0 x1 slots and an M.2 slot right at the bottom of the PCH heatsink. It is interesting to note that PCI-e expansion slots come with small LEDs that can also be configured using RGB effects. Storage options include 10 SATA III, 1 SATA Express and 1 U.2 ports.

On the I/O side, we are looking SupremeFX audio that provides a 7.1 channel high-quality jack. There's Gigabit Ethernet and 2x2 802.11ac Wi-Fi Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. The motherboard comes with several USB 3.0 port including a USB 3.1 (Type C and Type A) port. There are two internal USB 3.0 connectors and several fan ports which allow dynamic fan speed adjustment based on their positions. The STRIX X99 Gaming motherboard will hit retail at a price of $339 US. Both motherboards will hit the retail market soon with the Broadwell-E platform release tomorrow.
