In the past few days, select lucky players have been able to try out the upcoming Battlefield 1, the new entry of the series created by DICE currently in development for PC and consoles, thanks to a Closed Alpha. A few weeks ago, DICE confirmed that an Open Beta is also going to be held soon, and a few hours ago we have learned that it may not take too long for all Battlefield 1 fans to try out the game before release.

In a new livestream with the Battlefield German Community Manager Sebastian Moritz, it's been hinted that the Battlefield 1 Open Beta will begin shortly after Gamescom, which is being held from August 17th to August 21st. During the Q&A session, it's also been revealed that all those who registered with Battlefield Insider will be able to get a 3 day Early Access to the Beta.

With Battlefield 1 launching this October, a late August- early September date for the Open Beta definitely seems reasonable, as the team would have plenty of time to fix any major issue that might emerge during the testing. A precise date has yet to be confirmed, obviously, but it seems like it won't take too long to finally learn precisely when the Battlefield 1 Open Beta will begin on all formats.

Earlier this week, something new regarding the Battlefield 1 60Hz tick rate has emerged online. Despite what has been confirmed earlier by DICE's producer David Sirland, the 60Hz tick rate is a goal for the team, but it may not be achieved, according to DICE LA Engineer Julian Manolov. He has also confirmed that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will also be getting a FOV slider as seen in the Closed Alpha.

Battlefield 1 launches this October in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We will keep you updated on the Open Beta dates as soon as more comes in on them, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
