One of the features that most Star Wars Battlefront fans have been asking following the game's release is some way to play the game offline. The team was well aware of the requests, but apparently has to deal with some undefined technical issues. Today, after quite a long wait, it's been confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront will finally be getting an offline mode next week.
Earlier today, the official Star Wars Battlefront website confirmed that the game will be getting an offline mode called Skirmish next week, on July 20th. The mode will offer players the option to play offline against bots in a solo mission or with another player through split-screen co-op, which will only be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Skirmish will also feature multiple difficulty levels and two different modes, Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron.
To get right to the point, we’ve been listening to your feedback and your desire for more offline modes. Today we’re excited to officially announce a new mode, Skirmish, for all Star Wars Battlefront players.
The new mode will be available starting July 20 and offers players the option to play offline against bots in a solo mission or with a friend using co-op split screen. (Console only) Skirmish can be played on a difficulty level of your choosing and across two modes, Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron. With multiple locations that span the galaxy, from the frozen planet of Hoth to the lava encrusted planet of Sullust, we hope Skirmish brings players a new way to enjoy Star Wars Battlefront.
Star Wars Battlefront is now available in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Skirmish mode will launch on all formats next week, on July 20th.
