Today, Apple has released a new update for the fourth-generation Apple TV - tvOS 9.2.2. The new and updated operating system is designed to work only on the fourth-generation Apple TV. Silmilar to watchOS, the update comes two months after the release of tvOS 9.2.1 and approximately four months after the launch of tvOS 9.2. tvOS 9.2 can be thought of as a major upgrade as it brought support for dictation, Bluetooth keyboard and more. Moreover, no unusual features were discovered in the previous beta release as well. The new tvOS 9.2.2 update can be installed on the fourth-generation Apple TV via over the air through the Settings app. Simply launch the Settings app and then head to System and then tap on Software Update. However, if you have automatic software update turned on, tvOS 9.2.2 will be downloaded automatically.
Apple is in the works to release its upcoming tvOS 10 as well. The upgrade will be released later this fall. The forthcoming update will be a major one considering the changes that will be part of the upgrade. For instance, tvOS 10 is deemed to bring new and improved Siri capabilities, controller required games as well as single sign-on cable authentication.
