Ubisoft: 85% of Watch Dogs Players Interested in Sequel; The Division To Get More DLC Soon

During a conference call for today's Q1 2016 earnings results, Ubisoft shared some interesting data on its games.

For starters, CEO Yves Guillemot stated that Watch Dogs was the best selling new IP launch in 2014 and it ended up selling over 10 million copies in total. According to surveys done by Ubisoft, 85% of Watch Dogs players are interested in buying Watch Dogs 2 as well.

The trailer (when combining views from all the different territories, in all likelihood) broke 30M views, which is a record for the company and it leads them to believe that it will be one of the best selling games ever made by Ubisoft. When an investor asked about sales forecast, the reply was that they expect it to sell roughly as much as the first game.

While Watch Dogs 2 (due on November 15 worldwide) will be the top title this year, Ubisoft intends to keep supporting the existing titles that are doing well like Rainbow Six Siege and The Division. Lots of customers have bought Season Passes or DLC separately, so there will be more DLC and expansions for both games.

The Division in particular got 82% of its players to buy the latest Underground DLC, which increased player numbers significantly. For the eSports segment, they're betting on Rainbow Six: Siege, For Honor and Steep.

Finally, the executives also commented on the Pokemon Go phenomenon saying that they were impressed by what Nintendo managed to achieve and concluded with the announcement that they are also working on a game with Augmented Reality (AR).

We don't know yet their lineup for Gamescom 2016, but we'll be sure to post it as soon as it's official.
