Huawei’s Honor Note 8 has officially been announced, and we have to say that for its price tag, you’re getting one mean smartphone with a massive battery capacity and other impressive hardware.

Honor Note 8 comes with a 2K AMOLED display, and its screen size is a massive 6.6 inches. We all know the natural benefits of having a large screen size, and Honor Note 8 will be competing with the likes of Xiaomi Mi Max, which possesses a screen size of 6.44 inches. The AMOLED display will mean that the smartphone will resonate rich and vibrant colors, and will consume less battery compared to those IPS panels that we’ve seen in previous generation smartphones. Furthermore, AMOLED displays also allow manufacturers to reduce the thickness of phones, since they believe that reducing that thickness will add more appeal to their handsets.
Lots of critics might suggest that a 2K display will be a battery guzzler and while that’s true, you haven’t heard the whole story yet. The large screen size of Huawei Honor Note 8 can only mean one thing: a large battery capacity. The smartphone features a massive 4,500mAh cell, and is powered by a Kirin 955 and 4GB of RAM. It has been rumored that a 3GB RAM model is also in the works, but we have yet to hear about it. There is also a 13MP rear camera, but the disappointing thing here is that the sensor will only be able to record videos at 1080p and not at 4K.

- 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage: 2499 Yuan or $376.11
- 4GB RAM with 128GB internal storage: 2799 Yuan or $421.26
For a powerful smartphone, these price tags are far too affordable, but they are probably going to retail for this much in China.
