Update: The article has been marked as fake by Macrumors, and it looks like we're going to have to wait for further benchmarks to be released, as this one does not count anymore.

Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus has apparently been benchmarked, and while we always had a feeling that the smartphone would register an abnormally high score in Geekbench, these points are a slightly too much to fathom.

iPhone 7 Plus Geekbench Score Records A Huge Score For Both Single And Multi-Core Scores – High Clock Speed And RAM Upgrades Shown

Despite the fact that the processor running inside an iPhone 7 Plus features only two cores, the custom design of the CPU, not to mention the superior architecture contributes impressively to the scores that you see before you. One other element that you might have seen is that the smartphone packs 3GB of RAM according to the specifications, thus giving us further proof that the phablet sized handset will come packing with a nice little memory upgrade.

A10 is going to be manufactured on TSMC’s 16nm FinFET technology, which is the same node that’s going to be used for the upcoming Apple Watch 2. All upcoming iPhone 7 models are going to feature the A10 SoC, and according to the leaked performance metrics that we reported before, the chipset was giving us a fair amount of doubt in terms of performance, but it looks like we can feel a lot better now.

With the release of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Apple only relied on Qualcomm to manufacturer its LTE chips. With Intel brought into the fold as well, it looks like Apple is going to be in charge of the negotiation process, and this will naturally lead to the tech giant being able to snag a higher profit margin since both manufacturing firms will want to appease Apple with their own chips at reasonable deals.

Looking at these scores, we'd have to wager that the smartphone's are also going to be equipped with PowerVR GPUs, which are known for their impressive performance, but since details are currently scarce on the matter, we will update you as soon as more information comes through.

Give us your thoughts on the benchmarking scores that you’ve just witnessed; we’d love to hear your thoughts.
