Gun Media announced today via the latest Kickstarter update that Friday the 13th: The Game is getting a single player campaign, offline bots, a new playable character and a brand new map.
News of the addition of the Single Player campaign and offline means that Friday the 13th: The Game will have to push its release window from Fall 2016 to Summer 2017. Pricing is also changing slightly: from $30USD digital to $40USD when buying via digital store, while the physical copy will remain priced at $60 USD.
Jason fans will get a kick of the new map, Packanack Lodge, the setting of Friday the 13th: Part 2. Another thing fans will enjoy the fact that Tommy Jarvis will now be a playable character in Friday the 13th: The Game.

The first thing people are going to read here is 'delay. We want everyone to be assured that coming to our decision to delay was no easy matter, but we believe that the positives far outweigh the negatives. We've been reading day in and day out on our social media feeds that single player and Tommy Jarvis were in such a demand that we couldn't ignore our fans. After securing funding, we're here to tell you that it is a reality and we're making this game even bigger. It sucks that there's a delay, but the wait won't be too long and it's going to offer more for fans in the long-run!
In the meantime, Gun Media has announced their rough release schedule:
- Fall 2016: Beta Release including 4 additional beta keys for friends when pre-ordered (KS Backers will get an additional 4 beta keys for their friends as well)
- Spring 2017: Multiplayer Release with Tommy Jarvis and Packanack Lodge as the third playable map
- Summer 2017: Single Player Release and Offline AI Bots
Friday The 13th: The Game is shooting for a Summer 2017 launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (Steam). The helpful infographic below lays out the timeline up until the Summer release window.
