The latest report claims that Samsung is going to be testing out its Galaxy S8 much sooner than anticipated, most likely to stay away from another Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. This is a prudent approach from the company, since testing the smartphone internally before its actual release will give the firm a lot of breathing room to check for other minor issues.

One Report Suggests That Internal Testing of Galaxy S8 Could Begin as Early as January 2017

One tipster, who remains to be anonymous has stated the following regarding the arrival of the first Galaxy S8 batch.

“Key suppliers are required to provide an initial batch of their parts for the Galaxy S8 from January. Full volume supplies will start in February.”

It was reported earlier that the device might not be sold until the month of April, so it is possible that these full volume supplies will continue to be used for a secondary phase of testing before they are actually sold to the public. Samsung was reported to conduct battery testing in its own facilities, which it has been doing for a while and only now such a catastrophic incident occurred with one of its smartphones. One reason why the company could have overlooked the issue was because, in another report, Samsung was believed to force the announcement date of the phablet ahead of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, thus giving it a head start. It didn’t work out too well for the company though.

Galaxy S8 is said to come with several upgrades not found in Galaxy Note 7. Ranging from a dual-camera to a total of two models, Samsung has already been reported to start work on the device’s software, thus improving it to provide users with more options compared to stock Android. It was also reported that because Galaxy S8 would be sporting an optical fingerprint scanner underneath the display, it would allow the manufacturer to increase the screen-to-body ratio to 90 percent. This would make the device appear to sport near-bezel-less display, similar to the approach Xiaomi has taken with its Mi Mix.

Is it a good thing that Samsung has been reported to commence internal testing on its Galaxy S8 this early? Tell us your thoughts right away.
