Apple Suppliers Start Increasing Production Capacity In Wake Of Expected iPhone 8 Orders
When we talk in terms of progression, things are haywire for the iPhone lineup. Apple hasn't changed design in three years, an eternity when you consider how fast the tech world is. Instead, we've been provided with regular old upgrades that feature Cupertino's iconic marketing twist. Whether its a dual camera or 3D Touch, similar features have existed in the market before their introduction on the iPhone lineup.
The key element in the puzzle for Apple is, and always has been design. Cupertino's cashed in on the high end look for a while now but has dropped the ball on the iPhone. To counter this, the iPhone 8 will feature a lot of upgrades according to the rumor mill. Now, Apple's supply chain sources in Taiwan claim that its suppliers also have high expectations for the device.
Several of Apple's key manufacturing partners in the far East have started to make preparations for the iPhone 8. These include the likes of Foxconn and TSMC alongside other manufacturers. They've started to expand capacities in order to be fully prepared for Apple's orders next year. In fact, Taiwanese manufacturers aren't the only ones to make preparations in advance for the iPhone.
Korean and Japanese OLED manufacturers have also started to prepare for the device. Japan Display, LG and Samsung are investing heavily in OLED capacity. This will help them increase their market share and be fully prepared to cater towards potential Apple orders. Foxconn and Sharp have been in cohorts for OLED since the start of this year as well. The iPhone 8 looks to be the flagship that we've all been waiting for from Apple for a long time. A good ten months are left until the device's launch so more will surface in the future.
