We've previously reported that Resident Evil 7 will offer dynamic 4K resolution & HDR support on Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro. In a report by Japanese site Dengeki Online, Capcom confirmed that the PC version of the game will also offer HDR support as well as native 4K resolution (though it will be up to your configuration's power to run it smoothly, of course), making Resident Evil 7 the first AAA game to support both technologies on PC.
Those who've seen the PlayStation 4 Pro version of the game mentioned significant improvements thanks to highly detailed textures but after this news, we can surmise that a PC powerful enough to run Resident Evil 7 smoothly at native 4K will deliver the best possible visuals if coupled with an HDR compatible display.
Furthermore, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil 7 will also be sold via Microsoft's Windows Store and those who purchase the game there are getting the option to share saves with the Xbox One version, provided that they own that as well.
This seems to indicate that Resident Evil 7 for Windows Store supports the cross-save portion of Xbox Play Anywhere, though it might not support cross-buy. As a reminder, Capcom surprisingly shared the official PC requirements back in September; if you missed them, we've embedded them below.
Resident Evil 7 will be available for PC, PlayStation 4 (with full PlayStation VR support) and Xbox One on January 24th, 2017.
