A handy new feature, called Reset App, may be coming to Windows 10 Mobile. The feature will allow users to easily reset an app to a fresh state and is expected to be released with the Windows 10 Creators Update.

According to a post by Italian blog Aggiornamenti Lumia, Microsoft will release the preview of this feature in an upcoming Insider Preview this week. Reset App will allow users to roll an app back to its newly installed state without having to uninstall and reinstall it again. The feature works very similar to the “Clear Cache” feature in Android. Clear Cache allows you to wipe data for individual apps.

Windows 10 Mobile to offer "Reset App" feature

The blog suggests that Windows 10 Mobile's Reset App will appear in Settings > Advanced menu and will offer users to wipe data of any app they may wish to. This feature helps in removing all cached data and settings of an application, returning it to its original state.

The blog managed to get its hands on some screenshots of this upcoming feature from an unreleased internal build of Windows 10 Mobile.

The feature is not a major offering but offers added functionality and convenience to users. Reset App or Clear Cache feature helps when you have to flush data from a device to free up space or reset an app that hasn't been performing smoothly.

We will have to wait for the next Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build to see if the rumored Reset App is indeed coming to the Windows 10 Mobile devices. The company hasn't rolled out any preview in the past two weeks. Windows 10 Creators Update, which is rumored to offer this feature to the public, is expected to be released in March 2017. Microsoft has been adding small but helpful features in the Insider Preview builds leading to the final release next year.
