4K video support was added to YouTube back in 2010 and today the company is bringing the same option in live streaming. According to the company, both standard and 360-degree videos will have the ability to be live streamed in 4K. Let's see some more details on 4K live streaming option added in YouTube.

YouTube Now Supports 4K Live Video Streaming For Standard And 360-Degree Video

YouTube's new 4K live streaming support will simply allow content creators to broadcast using high-resolution video at 60 frames per second. The new update arrives a few weeks after the company rolled out 4K HDR support that delivered much more color accurate content. At this point in time, shooting 4K content is pretty much simpler than shooting 4K HDR content, so it makes sense for the company to start with the readily available technology. It's definitely one of the major updates for YouTube and will benefit both, content creators as well as viewers.

If you have a channel on YouTube, you can start 4K live streaming today. However, if you rest in the viewers category, one of the first shows to broadcast live in 4K is The Game Awards. YouTube has partnered with The Game Awards to live stream the complete show under the newly added format. The show will air on the 1st of December at 8:30PM ET. So if you're interested, be sure to stay tuned for it.

For creators this means the ability to take advantage of an incredibly clear picture for recorded and now streaming video. It’s the kind of thing that can help to push their hardware (and their talent) to create the most beautiful or just plain crazy-looking images and videos possible. And with 360 4K live streams, the sky is (literally) the limit. Get ready for 360 concert and event streams that look sharper, cleaner, and brighter than ever before.

YouTube is highly regarded as a video streaming platform in its own right. Moreover, it's adding abundant features at a very high pace which is setting high standards for the industry to follow. 4K live streaming is one of those features and will definitely go a long way. The goodness of 4K live streaming narrows down to more immersive content and concert streams. Other than this, the feature would have a very high demand in the gameing and e-sports category as well.

Hopefully in the near future, 4K live streaming will be the new standard for live broadcasts. This is it for now, folks. What are your thoughts on the addition of 4K live streaming in YouTube? Share your thoughts in the comments.
