Dual-camera enabled smartphones have started to popularize. A feature that was present only on the high-end devices has slowly started to gravitate towards more affordable offerings, with one, in particular, being the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom. The smartphone has been certified by TENAA and apart from its dual-camera, there are more reasons why consumers might want to upgrade to the ‘soon to be’ announced handset.
ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom Sports a Massive Battery Capacity and a Crisp AMOLED DISPLAY – All-Round Hardware Specifications Rated to Be Decent
According to the specs sheet, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom features an FHD AMOLED display, so there is something to look forward to when vibrant displays are concerned. We are expecting the full metal jacket from the manufacturer using an aluminum build, but perhaps the biggest highlight of the device has to be its dual-camera sensor. According to the specs sheet, the ZenFone 3 Zoom sports a dual 12.2MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera.
The specifications did not care to state what sensor was present inside nor did it provide details on whether or not the rear camera featured OIS, which happens to be a very important element for improving smartphone photography. However, we’re hoping that the pre-installed camera software provides some healthy user upgrades so consumers can actually take advantage of the dual-camera. Similar to the iPhone 7 Plus’ Portrait mode, we could be looking at something similar down the road.
The battery life is going to be another selling point of the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom. With a massive 5,000mAh battery present underneath the hood of the 5.5-inch handset, it will be specifically targeted to users who have complained about battery timings on their current handsets. However, one of the disappointing things about the smartphone was the chipset choice from the manufacturer. Sure, the device packs 4GB of RAM, but a Snapdragon 625 pretty much kills the whole ‘power game’ from the smartphone.
With a slightly better chipset, you would be able to take advantage of the better performing and thermally efficient processor for better multitasking, but the fact that the smartphone is running 8 Cortex-A53 cores at 2.00GHz seems like you will get decent performance out of it. Don’t expect it to be Daydream ready because it lacks behind in the processor department considerably. However, for smartphone photography enthusiasts and those that require high battery life, the ZenFone 3 Zoom should be a worthy upgrade.
