Google is keen on making users shift from an iPhone to Android. While the company has updated its website, guiding users how to shift from an iPhone to Android, it's also adding a new feature in its Google Drive app for iOS. The new feature narrows down to the ability which will allow you to back up your calendar, contacts and camera roll to the company's cloud storage platform. Henceforth, the move will allow iPhone users to make an easy shift to its rival platform. Let's see some more details on the subject.

Google Drive Now Lets You Back Up Your iPhone To Make Android Switching Easier

If you happen to have an iPhone and you're willing to shift to Android, whether the company's Pixel handset or any other, Google Drive will allow you to transfer all of your important information. The best part is that the process is completely automatic and as soon as you start running an Android phone, all your data will be waiting for you in Google's various applications. Previously, you had to upload your stuff from various different apps.

So how can you back up your iPhone on Google Drive? The new feature rests in the settings menu under ''backup''. However, according to Google the process time might vary depending on the amount of data you have on your iPhone. It might take several hours in some cases so it's clearly not instantaneous. If you're willing to make the shift, it would be better to keep your iPhone plugged in to a power source and connected to a reliable and secure Wi-Fi connection until the transfer process is complete. Moreover, Google Drive should be running and on open on the screen as well.

Both, Apple and Google are working to attract users from their rival operating systems to gather in as much user base as possible. Google's nifty new feature is the company's answer to Apple's Android app that allows for an easy switch from Android to iPhone. However, if we compare the two apps, Google Drive does a lot more and has a few more utility tricks up its sleeves. If  you're wondering, your music library and texts will not transfer so you will have to do this operation manually.

All in all, it's Google's move to attract iOS users to the Android platform. If you're interested or are willing to make a shift, be sure to make use of Google Drive for iOS's new feature.

This is it for now, folks. Would you be interested in using Google Drive's new feature  to transfer from an iPhone to Android? Share your thoughts in the comments.
