Apple has released iOS 10.2.1 Beta 1 to registered developers. Along with that, the company has seeded first betas of macOS 10.2.3 and tvOS 10.1.1.
Apple Releases New Beta Software to Developers
Having updated its entire mobile software lineup earlier this week, Apple has now seeded beta 1 of iOS 10.2.1, macOS 10.12.3 and tvOS 10.1.1 to developers. If you have an Apple Developer Program membership at hand, you can grab all the latest updates directly from Cupertino's dev portal. As you'd expect, the membership will set you back $99 on an annual basis, granting you access to Apple's pre-release software for one full year.
iOS 10.2.1 Beta 1 can either be downloaded over the air, or as a separated IPSW file which you can restore using iTunes. The choice is absolutely yours which route you take. Downloading the update over the air ensures you do not lose your files and settings as it keeps everything in tact.
macOS 10.12.3 Beta 1 on the other hand can also be grabbed from Apple Developer Program, after which you will be taken to the Mac App Store for download. It's an absolutely simple process. Simply head over to the Downloads section in Apple Developer Program website and click on the blue Download button to kick things off.
tvOS 10.1.1 can be downloaded either over the air using a profile or as an IPSW file. The latter route is somewhat of a pain to go through as you'll be required to connect your Apple TV 4 with your Mac using a USB-C cable. It's absolutely up to you which route you take for download.
At the time of writing it's unclear what the new beta software brings with it. We will give the software a spin on our devices to see what Apple has packed under the hood. There is a high possibility that today's releases fix bugs and addresses issues that might have been introduced with iOS 10.2, macOS 10.2.2 and tvOS 10.1. But of course, there is a possibility Apple might have tossed in a few certain features as well into he mix to appease users.
