Nier Automata, the action role playing game in development by Square Enix in collaboration with Platinum Games, is among the games launching on PlayStation 4 in the first few months of next year, and the publisher has been talking more about it since the confirmation of its Western release date. Earlie today, members of the team revealed some additional details on the game during a special livestream.

During today's Dengeki Online livestream, producers Yosuke Saito and Eijiro Nishimura confirmed, among other things, that Nier Automata will run at native 1600x900 resolution, 60 FPS. The lower resolution is probably a necessity to make the game run at 60 frames per second.

Those who will play Nier Automata on PlayStation 4 Pro will be able to enjoy the game in native 1920x1080 resolution, 60 frames per second. Additionally, the game will sport better lighting, better effects, higher resolution shadows and better detail. Sadly, the game will not support 4K resolution.

Plenty of Nier Automata gameplay has also been shown during today's livestream, so make sure to check out the video below even if you don't speak Japanese, it's a worthy watch for all Nier Automata fans.

While the PlayStation 4 version of the game has been dated in all regions, we still don't know when the game will be released on Steam. Last week, a Square Enix rep revealed that the Steam release will release alongside the PlayStation 4 version, but the publisher later confirmed that a release date has yet to be decided.

Nier Automata launches on PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe in early March. The release date for the PC version has yet to be confirmed, but we will let you know more about the matter as soon as an announcement comes in, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
