After Samsung released fourth Android 7.0 Nougat beta update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge last week, we were hoping the Korean tech giant will start a public release before the new year eve. Sadly, nothing of the sorts is happening. Samsung has now started to release yet another beta Nougat for Galaxy S7 edge devices registered in the beta program. This is the fifth beta of the series and doesn't appear to be the last too.
Samsung... time for public Nougat for Galaxy S7?
The South Korean phone maker started sending out the Android 7.0 Nougat beta for Galaxy S7 duo to beta testers in the UK and South Korea. The latest beta update brings some minor enhancements and performance improvements, without any major new changes or features. The update also fixes some earlier bugs, including the rebooting issue.
Folks at Sammobile reported that the latest beta build brings a new transparency feature for notifications on the lockscreen. This means that regardless of the number of notifications, your wallpaper will always be visible.
The update is reportedly available to both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge devices registered with the now-closed beta testing "Galaxy Beta" program. The latest Android Nougat beta update for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge weighs in at around 300MB.
Samsung is highly expected to finally get rid of all the flaws and bugs and start releasing the public version of 3-months-old Android 7.0 Nougat to its flagship phones. Other major Android manufacturers have already released Android Nougat to their flagship phones. These include HTC, LG, Sony, and Huawei, among other Android OEMs.
Samsung is the last of major Android names to deliver Nougat experience to its flagship devices. Following the Note 7 fire fiasco, the company isn't gaining any positive reviews or customer trust with these extremely delayed Android releases, when every other company is already promising Android 7.1 update for their phones.
