As we reported earlier, Microsoft is planning to unveil a new Windows 10 Game Mode focusing on performance consistency. Insiders who are already getting excited to test the mode tomorrow, the new Windows Game Mode isn't likely to be revealed until later this week.
Reported by Aernout earlier, "Windows Game Mode will focus on a more consistent gaming performance. Instead of focusing on performance boosts, the mode aims to make framerates more consistent." The Windows Game Mode will limit CPU thread contention between your games and existing system processes, helping to speed things up even further.
Insider build with Windows 10 Game Mode releasing later this week
We have been impatiently waiting for the next Windows 10 Insider build, mainly due to the slew of new features and improvements that Microsoft has started to release lately. However, the next Windows 10 Insider build, which is also expected to reveal Windows 10 Game Mode to Fast ring Insiders, won't be coming until later this week.
Announcements on Microsoft Blogs and a tweet by Dona Sarkar earlier this week had suggested that we can expect a new build for the Fast ring tomorrow. However, Major Nelson has now confirmed (via MSPU) that the new Windows 10 Insider Preview build with Windows Game Mode won't be coming until later this week.
This probably means a late Friday release since Windows development team doesn't usually release any new builds on weekends.
Earlier in the day, Sarkar had also tweeted about being "locked up in a room doing eng reviews to plan the next iteration of work," suggesting that no build will be arriving. While we believed it would be delayed until tomorrow, apparently it may take even longer.

Along with Windows Game Mode, two more new Xbox features are also expected to arrive in the next build. Microsoft is adding a new top-level Gaming section to the Settings app along with enabling Beam game streaming.
“For the creators out there, we wanted to make it easier for you to start your live game streams without any delays so you can quickly connect and engage with your viewers no matter where they are," Microsoft’s Scott Henson posted in a blog post earlier today. Henson too has now updated his post reflecting the change in release plans, replacing tomorrow with "later this week."
