Later this year, Apple will introduce the iPad 2, that has been reported to sport double the resolution and four times the pixels to process. That type of display upgrade would require a lot of juice in terms of GPU and processing power.
So nowm Apple's next Chip is expected to jump from the SGX535 to the new SGX543 graphics and video core, which is said to offer around twice the processing power at the same clock speed. The new graphics core supports OpenCL that is used to offload general purpose computing tasks on the GPU for faster execution.
