Microsoft buying Skype for over $8 Billion

AsadRafi

There are 3 companies which are currently ruling the technology world, and they are Microsoft, Apple and Google. Microsoft is around from a long time now, and their Chairman and CEO are one of the richest persons in the world. Now it looks like Microsoft is about to make a move ahead by buying Skype. Skype is the leading software which is used for online voice and video chatting over internet and also over 3G and it's available for computers and mobile phones. All Things Digital is reporting that Microsoft will be acquiring Skype for a big price of $8.5 Billion. They are also reporting that the deal is already done and Microsoft will announce it officially today and Microsoft's Steve Ballmer and Microsoft General Manager of Corporate Strategy and dealmaker Charles Songhurst played a big role in this deal.

Well, that sounds good and if it's true, then we will see future Windows Phone 7 device with pre-installed version of Skype, and it will bring features like video calling and other stuff to WP7, but what about other operating systems i.e. Android, iOS, BlackBerry OS. Well, I hope if Microsoft is buying it, then they will also do justice with other mobile users, not only with WP7 users.

So people, do you think Microsoft acquiring Skype is a good idea?
