Google is rolling out a new feature for iOS and Android Gmail apps that will save you time while you respond to messages. Smart Reply is the name of the feature and it uses machine learning technology to determine which emails can be answered with short replies. Once this has been done, few possible responses will be created for you so you can choose whichever is suitable. So in short no more thinking about what to reply; you will be done in just a few taps and you will be good to go.

This Google Smart Reply feature was first introduced in 2015 for inbox on mobile and was expanded to inbox on web only last year. This feature is also available on Google’s chat app Allo and users can avail it there. If you are wondering why people would use it, then it’s okay. Apparently there are a lot of people who love the feature and use it to its full potential. According to Google Smart Reply currently drives 12% of replies in Inbox on mobile. The feature is now being rolled out globally to Gmail for iOS and Android. It will only be in English first and according to Google, Spanish will follow in the ‘coming weeks’. The company plans to add support for additional languages in the coming future.
Smart Reply And Faster Solutions
Smart Reply is designed to suggest up to 3 responses to the emails you will receive. For example if a colleague mails you to set up a meeting on Wednesday or Thursday, the replies generated will be like this: ‘Let’s do Wednesday’ or ‘Wednesday works for me’ or ‘Either day works for me’ etc. Whatever reply is suitable to you, just tap it and send. You can even tweak Google’s verbiage if you aren’t satisfied and add more text if you wish. According to what Gmail Software Engineer Greg Bullock wrote in a blog post, “Smart Reply utilizes machine learning to give you better responses the more you use it. So if you're more of a 'thanks!' than a 'thanks.' person, we'll suggest the response that's, well, more you!"
