Apple might be penetrating the health care market because according to the latest source, Tim Cook was spotted wearing a Glucose tracker prototype on his body. However, the shape of the wearable was not described meticulously, but we have a feeling that the feature could be present in the upcoming Apple Watch.
Tim Cook Earlier Spoke About Apple’s Commitment to the Health Space – Feature Could Most Likely Be Implemented in the New Apple Watch
Tim Cook was spotted at the Apple campus testing out a Glucose tracker prototype, but here’s the interesting bit; the tracker was connected to his Apple Watch, suggesting that this could be a standalone product in the works. On the other hand, seeing as how it would be beneficial to release a new wearable that sports a myriad number of features, Apple would do well to incorporate this addition in the upcoming Apple Watch because as statistics show, the wearable is sitting at the top of the food chain when it comes to sales.
According to CNBC, the CEO of Apple is reassuring his commitment to the Apple Watch as he states the following of how important this addition would be.
“It's mentally anguishing to stick yourself many times a day to check your blood sugar. There is lots of hope out there that if someone has constant knowledge of what they're eating, they can instantly know what causes the response... and that they can adjust well before they become diabetic. I've been wearing a continuous glucose monitor for a few weeks. I just took it off before coming on this trip.”
It has not been confirmed if the prototype is going to be a standalone wearable or if the company intends to implement such a feature in the next Apple Watch. Our gut tells us that it is going to be the latter since it would become an arduous experience carrying around several devices for a different set of tasks.
