Does Android O Beta support my Android device?

How to flash Android O Beta?

You can do it in two ways - manually, or by enrolling yourself in the Android Beta program, we suggest the latter. If you have an eligible phone then just go to Android Beta Program website and log in with your Google account that is synced with your device. After the sign-in, Google will ask you to select your smartphone model, and after it, you will have to click on the "Enroll" button.

After successfully enrolling into the program, Google will push an OTA update to your phone.

For Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P, after the update gets downloaded, the phone will restart to boot it. For Google Pixel or Pixel XL, the update will download smoothly, and after completion, you will be asked to restart the device - just like regular updates.

Can I roll back to Android Nougat?

Yeah, you can very well move back to Android Nougat. Just open Android O Beta website, sign into your Google account, and then click on "Unenroll" button. It will unroll you from the program and Google will then push you an update that will bring your device back on Nougat. Make sure you have your phone's backup before going ahead with this step.

After un-enrolling yourself from the program, you are not getting restricted from it. You can enroll back anytime you want.

What about my phone's data?

Enrolling into the Android Beta Programme would keep your phone's data safe. Google's official OTA update makes sure that your device's data stays intact, this is why recommend this process than manual flashing. However, just to be cautious, it is always better to take your phone's backup before proceeding with any update - just in case.

Is my device at risk by installing Android O Beta?

Admittedly, developer previews are full of bugs and app crashes. There are fair chances that your app might not work with Android O. However, the beta update for Android O seems to be much better. If you have just one device, then it would be better to not go ahead with the developer preview 2 as it will disrupt your phone experience.
