In certain countries, the Cupertino company is charging a small fee to get onboard the three-month 'free' trial of Apple Music.

Apple Might Charge You 99 Cents for a Three-Month Trial in Your Country - Be Ready to Pay Up

Before you part ways with your money, you can try out Apple Music for a period of three months absolutely free. This means you will be billed for the fourth month, if you choose to stay with the service, and so on. Oddly enough, it seems as though the company is taking a different approach in countries such as Australia, Spain and Switzerland, as users residing in those areas have to pony up 99 cents for a three-month 'free' trial. Although that might not sound that much, but it's a fee that one has to pay in order to make do with the trail for the service. There is no way around it.

Apple, on the other hand, has issued a statement (via The Verge), in which it has stated that it has a different policy for Apple Music in different countries. Here's the complete statement from Apple.

Pricing and promotions for Apple Music vary from country to country.

There's no clue at all as to why Apple is charging 99 cents for a three-month trial. Some sources are speculating that it was done so in order to make up for the lost royalties during the trial period when Apple Music was first launched. But of course, Apple might have its own reasons, and there's a possibility that something will be unearthed sooner rather than later.

If you are residing in the United States, or some other country rather than the ones outlined above, then you go ahead with your three-month trial for free. But, in the days to come, if you see a small fee attached to the trial, then don't be alarmed at all. After all, Apple did say so itself that 'pricing and promotion' varies from country to country.

Apple Music is currently available for iOS, Mac, Windows and even Android users. You can hop straight into action directly from your respective device. iOS users can do so from the Music app, Windows and Mac users from iTunes, whereas Android users have to download the Apple Music app from the Play Store.
