AMD appears to be already making room for its upcoming enthusiast Ryzen Threadripper family of processors and X399 platform. The new high-end desktop CPUs will launch alongside a massive new socket dubbed TR4. AMD's enthusiast lineup of Ryzen CPUs will support up to 16 cores, 32 threads and will all feature support for quad channel DDR4 memory and 64 PCIe Gen3 lanes.
AMD Ryzen 7 CPU Prices Drop By Up To 23% Ahead Of Threadripper Launch
AMD's new enthusiast platform is scheduled to launch some time "this summer'. Whenever that's going to be exactly is still unknown, but the launch date is clearly nearing as AMD has already taken action on its current Ryzen 7 lineup to make room for its new platform. The company took an axe to the price tags of each of its three Ryzen 7 1800X, 1700X and 1700 processors and slashed prices considerably.
The new lineup can now readily be found on amazon and newegg for as low as $455, $349 and $299 Respectively. Brand new 1800X can be found for as low as $429 on eBay and brand new 1700X boxes can be found for as low as $309. That's a 14% price cut to the 1800X compared to its $499 launch MSRP and a whopping 23% price cut to the 1700X compared to its $399 launch MSRP.

The new pricing makes AMD's already incredibly popular Ryzen 7 lineup even more attractive. The Ryzen 7 1700X is now particularly more attractive after coming down nearly $100 dollars in price. With over 100 AM4 motherboards now readily available and Ryzen 7s selling at the low 300s users can build incredibly powerful gaming and productivity machines at less than half what equivalent Intel hardware would've cost last year and still costs today.
