Configuration wise, the 21.5 inch will be able to support 32GB of RAM. Its larger brother, the 27 inch iMac will drive things up to 64GB. Apple also embraces USB Type-C on desktop with the iMacs. The pair get two Thunderbolt 3 ports. At the graphics end, for the 21.5 inch iMac, you'll start with the Intel Iris Pro 640. Go higher, to 4K and you'll be able to choose between the Radeon Pro 555 and 560.

For the 27 inch, 5K Retina iMac, VR will make a serious debut all around. The desktop will support AMD's Radeon Pro 570, 575, 580 and 8GB VRAM. Today's a good day for Cupertino as its finally starting to get its head out of the sand. The tech world's a lot bigger than the iPhone, Apple, and it's time that you realized that.
