After a big event, Apple usually takes a look at its iCloud pricing structure so we aren’t surprised that the company upheld this tradition after this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The company has made a number of changes and simplified the available iCloud storage tier. This change was made to make the product more attractive to hardware owners.
iCloud Storage Tier options
The company has removed the 1TB iCloud storage tier option. Before this, customers were charged $9.99 per month for this storage but now they be getting more storage for the same amount of money. Cool right? The price of 2TB storage tier has been dropped down to $9.99. So basically the company is now offering a 100% upgrade for the same value!
The users who prefer the higher iCloud storage tiers are getting their dreams come true. The 50 GB and 200 GB tiers have not changed and are priced at $0.99/month and $2.99/month respectively. The prices are quoted in US dollars but the price changes are applicable across the globe wherever iCloud storage plans are available. As mentioned before, the 1TB storage plan has been discontinued across the board.
So very attractive
One thing that many hardware owners were hoping for hasn’t happened. We were also hoping that Apple would change the amount of free storage available to users holding an iCloud account. The Cupertino-based company has a history of serving an initial 5GB iCloud space. It seems that even though the company announced a lot of new things at the WWDC like iOS 11, High Sierra etc; some things will remain the same.
Apple is offering users the ability to share a 200 GB or 2TB plan with family members with help of devices using iOS 11. This factor is notable and it makes the storage plan even more attractive.
