Hazelight’s ‘A Way Out’ Looks Like Co-Op Prison Break, Out in Early 2018

A Way Out is the next game in development by Hazelight, the indie team founded by the makers of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.

The game was just revealed during EA Play 2017 and it will be an adventure title exclusively playable in co-operative mode (split-screen or online). It looks very much like a gaming rendition of Prison Break if you're familiar with the popular TV show starring Wentworth Miller.

In A Way Out you play the role of one of two prisoners in a daring escape over and beyond the prison walls.

What begins as a thrilling escape quickly turns into an emotional adventure unlike anything seen & played before. A Way Out is a two-player experience. Each player controls one of the main characters, working together to escape the prison and continue beyond into each character’s lives.

It is a game that explores the notion of trust, companionship and facing up to consequences. It offers something for everyone - may it be lean back or intense gameplay moments, action, adventure, exploration, puzzles, chase, stealth.

The narrative keeps you on your toes, offering a fresh, unique and compelling experience throughout. Get a unique look into the character’s personal lives and their driving motivations through their interaction with others as strong cinematic moments tie the plot together and propel the characters forward through their journey.

We got a story trailer and a gameplay trailer and admittedly, it looks very unique. It will be out in early 2018 for PC (via Origin, so presumably there won't be a retail product), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
