Metroid Prime 4 On Switch Will Feature “Isolation” & “Exploration”; Developed by New Team

Metroid Prime 4 on the Nintendo Switch is being developed by a new development team and will return the game to the first-person adventure roots of the original Metroid Prime.

Earlier today, Nintendo officially announced a new Metroid game during its E3 2017 spotlight. The trailer that Nintendo released can be watched below:

Other than the game’s official announcement, no details were released but the recently released official press kit does contain some interesting tidbits.

Metroid Prime 4 is the game’s working title for now, and returns players to Metroid Prime’s first-person adventure roots while introducing “a new storyline that ties together the events of the Metroid Prime universe and takes the storyline in new directions”.

Development is being led by Kensuke Tanabe together with a new development team. According to the game’s fact sheet, the team is working hard to bring “the action, isolation, and exploration of the Metroid Prime universe to life”.

A launch date for the game is yet to be announced.
