Microsoft’s New Modern Keyboard Has An Integrated Fingerprint Sensor In The Windows Key

Microsoft is continuing its run of designing sleek products as it has silently unveiled a new "Modern Keyboard". However, one might see it as a normal everyday keyboard apart from its design aesthetics, but this beautifully designed aluminium slab features an integrated fingerprint sensor. The Modern Keyboard can be used with Windows 10 PCs, macOS as well as the latest versions of Android. So let's dive in to see some more details on what does the keyboard has to offer.

Microsoft Silently Released Its Modern Keyboard With An Integrated Fingerprint Sensor

Microsoft's Modern Keyboard is a successor to the Surface Keyboard, which we're all familiar with and more or less looks pretty much the same. The only differences you will note in the new keyboard is an integrated fingerprint sensor and a wired connection. The wired connection allows you to use the keyboard with a wire rather than opting for being wireless.

The new keyboard from Microsoft comes in full-width with a numerical keypad. It packs a slim profile with 19.3mm in height and as we have mentioned earlier, it boasts a built-in fingerprint sensor. So where is the fingerprint sensor located on the keyboard? Well, it is is located inside the Windows button key on the right hand side. It can be used to log into a Windows computer or websites that use Windows Hello.

According to Microsoft, the Bluetooth range is up to 15 meters in open air. If you're in an office, the connectivity can extend up to seven meters. The built-in battery can last up to two months.
