Last week, we reported about Motorola's mid-tier Moto X4's expected debut on Google's Project Fi. In the report, we also mentioned about the rumoured specifications of the device. However, new specs of the Moto X4 have surfaced today, which disclaim the earlier ones. Also, Evan Blass has tweeted a picture of the Moto X4 that gives us a fair look at the upcoming device.

The VentureBeat has reported about the new specifications for the Moto X4. According to their latest report on Project Fi, the upcoming device could come powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 630 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card. The device could reportedly feature a 3000mAh battery. These specs contradict the previous report that claimed the device to come with 3800mAh battery and Snapdragon 660 processor.

Meanwhile, the new report about the phone reveals a dual-camera setup with 12MP and 8MP lenses on the rear. The new report also tips the front camera on the device - a 16-megapixel front setup. Following the previous story, the Moto X4 could come with a 5.2-inch display with 1920×1080 pixels.

Other specifications state IP68 dust/water resistance and a fingerprint sensor in the home button. These specs are in line with the previous rumours. It also suggests the same launch date for the device and says that it could be released “in time for the holiday shopping season.”

Last week, Project Fi's official Twitter account tweeted about the nearing launch of a mid-tier device, falling in the price range between $300-$400.

As we reported in the previous report, Moto X4 is the first non-Google-branded smartphone that would come with Fi MVNO support. The Project Fi is dependent on three network operators T-Mobile, Sprint, and U.S. Cellular for the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) setup. By combining the signal power of three telcos, Google Fi achieves the maximum signal capacity and channels it to the customers. The pricing of Project Fi starts at $20 per line plus $10 per gig of data. Interestingly, Project Fi credits the unused data back to the users’ account.
