Even though Apple has announced its iOS 11 firmware at the WWDC 2017 event, we can never be too sure what features it supports for the iPhone 8. The HomePod firmware has shared various insights on what we can expect from the next high-end flagship from Apple. We recently found out that Apple could possibly use facial recognition to authenticate Apple Pay payments. Now, we're seeing something related to the forthcoming handset's camera. HomePod reveals a brand new feature for the iPhone 8 called ''SmartCamera". So let's dive in to see some more details on what the feature is capable of.

HomePod Firmware Details The SmartCamera Feature For The iPhone 8

SmartCamera is a feature which can possibly be baked into iOS 11 or be exclusive to iPhone 8. What it does is simple - to be able to auto detect a range of different elements including scenes, babies, pets and more. What this means is that the camera on the iPhone 8 will be able to detect the difference between ''fireworks'' and a ''bright stage'' or even an an area with a heavy "foliage". In addition to this, the camera can also detect snow, sports, sunrise and or sunset.

There are several possibilities how this auto detection could be used by the iPhone 8. To our speculation, the SmartCamera can automatically adjust various aspects of the photo or video like the exposure, brightness and other elements. It's also unclear at this point if the SmartCamera feature will be available for the rear camera or the front or both.

Another addition in the SmartCamera category is something called "freezeMotion". This feature also detects various objects like babies, pets and even "face scenes". What this means is that there could possibly be new scene detection elements, working and conjoined with the results of the SmartCamera. The end result could possibly be a photo taken at the best moment.
