With no headphone jack and a seemingly generic design that is reminiscent of last year’s models, it does not look like Google and HTC are making essential efforts to make the Pixel 2 as dazzling as possible. We understand that the Pixel 2 and its respective models are expected to be announced during the later months of this year, but looking at this allegedly leaked render, it appears as if the handset was supposed to be launched in 2016 rather than this period.

Pixel 2 Leaked Render Could Belong to the Budget Handset That Has Been Rumored to Be Unveiled Alongside the More Premium Versions

Coming from Evleaks, the Pixel 2 bears a high percentage of bezels at the top and bottom part of the device, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and the absence of a dual-camera configuration. All of these elements point towards the same Pixel handset that was unveiled in 2016, and it looks as if though we might be getting the exact same thing, but with more powerful hardware of course.

Before we start pointing fingers, we must remember the myriad amounts of knowledge bestowed upon us by countless rumors. One of them prattled that both Google and HTC have plans to release a budget Pixel device meaning that this could very well be the handset that provides a stock Android experience while sporting a regular handset exterior design from 2016.

It is possible that the remaining premium models bear a more striking resemblance to the Galaxy S8 or LG G6, but time will tell how accurate this leaked render is. If you’re upset about this then bear in mind that several flagship devices have been leaked that do not boast crisp thin bezels such as the Xperia XZ Premium and HTC U11. The Xperia XZ Premium’s lack of high screen-to-body ratio means that users will get access to high-quality and stellar stereo speakers.

It is possible that by not adopting a more 2017-generation design, the budget Pixel 2 phone also gets incorporated with decent quality speakers that sound above average. As for the rest of the info, looks like we will find out all the elusive details during the last quarter of this year.
