All the rumor mill can talk about these days is the Apple iPhone 8. The mystical smartphone will allegedly make up for all of Cupertino's shortcomings. Despite the fact that Apple's managed to deliver on-par flagships over the past couple of years, people still miss Steve Jobs. There's nothing fancy about the iPhone anymore, no feature to help the brand stand out clearly from the rest of the pack. While the mass media continues its focus on the smartphone, today we've got some news for the iPhone SE's successor. Take a look below to find out more.

Apple's Manufacturing Partner Winstron Is All Set To Produce Upgraded iPhone SE Models For India; Smartphone Will Feature The Apple A10

Under Tim Cook, Apple's smartphone divide is starkly clear. While the single minded Jobs preferred one smartphone, Apple's now got three on its portfolio. It's a classic business school move that's enabled Apple to drive up profits at the cost of innovation. The latest addition to the iPhone family is the iPhone SE. Following its decision to drive up prices on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple had to accommodate users who simply don't like brick sized smartphones in their hands.

However, the iPhone SE has seen little love this year. Cupertino's focus is on computing this time around, with not only the iPad, but the MacBook and Mac lineups also undergoing serious overhauls. Now, we've got an Indian source which claims that the iPhone SE will indeed see an upgrade and feature the Apple A10.

This starkly contrasts with the company's decision to equip the iPhone SE with the A9, which featured on its fresh iPhone 6s/iPhone 6s Plus at the time. That's undoubtedly had the effect of cannibalizing the premium, if the alleged iPhone SE upgrade does indeed feature the Apple A10. However, we'll be in for a special treat if this particular A10 is a 10nm processor. The source claims that the iPhone SE upgrade will be available to Indian customers at first, which makes us believe that Apple just might be looking to recycle old parts.

As for other specifications of this upgrade, the iPhone SE(2) will feature a 4.2 inch screen, a 1700mAh battery and iOS 11.The battery marks a slight increase over its predecessor, and what a treat it'll be if we get to witness 4GB RAM on the slate form factor. Still, take all of this with a grain of salt and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We'll keep you updated on the latest.
