Alleged, Low Quality First LG V30 Live Image Reveals Large Display; Shows Little More Than SIM Card Slot

Ramish Zafar

Well folks, looks like the LG V30 does not want to be left out on the rumor mill. The Korean manufacturer is yet to make its mark for the year in the flagship world. While it was eager to show off its display muscle with the LG G6, the smartphone's technical specifications left us a tad bit disappointed. Shipping a 2017 gadget with 2016 hardware, one that's especially an entire process node behind only serves to degrade it to middle-tier. But LG fans, worry not. The V30 will make up for all these shortcomings and if you're wondering what it looks like in the flesh, we've got just the leak. Take a look below to find out more.

Alleged Live Photo For The LG V30 Appears Similar To Earlier Leaked Renders

A lot of hype is building up for the LG V30. This year, the flagship smartphone race is tougher than ever. Not only have bezel free, high screen:body ratio displays set a higher bar, we've also got new entrants for H2. LG isn't the only manufacturer expected to launch a flagship smartphone in this period. We've also got Google's Pixel 2 and HMD's Nokia 9 lined up for launch. Combine that with the iPhone 8 and Samsung's Note 8 and the race is as intense as it can get.

From LG's end, the rumor mill expects a better display than the LG G6's. The G6 will be LG's first smartphone with 10nm hardware, so there are a lot of high expectations for the device. And while the rumor mill's been gracious with performance specifications, visual information for the smartphone is scarce. We've got only a handful of reliable renders to go on, but that changes today.

It's a pity that today's image is so low quality. Looks like the person who snapped it either had a really bad camera or was simply too scared to get caught. Comparing it with earlier leaked renders, we see that the front camera is still placed at the extreme top left. However, a detail that previous leaks missed out is the smartphone's SIM card slot. That'll be placed at the left if our take on today's image is accurate.

Other details for the LG V30 don't change much over its predecessor. It will feature a dual camera and a power button at its back and add nothing new to the equation. In fact, LG hasn't found 'courage' like Apple to remove the 3.5mm earphone jack from the smartphone, for which we're eternally grateful. The big thing for the LG V30 might be the Snapdragon 836. But maybe we're getting too optimistic. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned. We'll keep you updated on the latest.
