The iPhone 8, Note 8, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Nokia 9 and the LG V30 will provide upscale buyers with a lot of smartphone options. For the V30, LG's now looking to show off its display strength, if information out of China bears fruit. Take a look below to find out more.

The LG V30 Will Carry A Soft P-OLED, DCI-P3 Display Claims Rumor; Company Will Build On G Flex's Flexible Displays

This year, displays are the main focus of the flagship smartphone world. Samsung and LG have started off the minimum bezel OLED trend, which both will once again meet this half. Now, it's time to see which manufacturer is able to churn out the OLED with the best color reproduction. The LG V30 is a regular feature of the rumor mill these days. By the looks of things so far, we're getting another flagship smartphone this year, as LG looks to make up for the G5's losses.

The LG V30 will sport the Snapdragon 835(836 if we're lucky), 4GB RAM, an improved Quad DAC and an OLED display to put the iPhone 7 Plus to shame. Apple took the lead in the display world last year with the DCI-P3 Wide Angle Color gamut. The feature was launched for the first time with the 9.7 inch iPad Pro and continued on the iPhone 7 lineup. But Cupertino's lack of proper production facilities w.r.t OLED have continued to bite it painfully in the ass. And LG's here to show us why (allegedly, of course).

A rumor straight out of China builds on earlier claims of a 'Full Vision' display for the LG V30. Sources suggest that the smartphone will feature an OLED display with highly calibrated color reproduction. As display technologies advance, wide-angle color gamuts are becoming the norm, with Samsung's Galaxy S8 possessing an amazing display. The S8's display is able to churn out 113% of DCI-P3 and 148% of sRGB courtesy of its brand new Deep Red OLED. For comparison, the iPhone 7 Plus' display 104% sRGB and 102% DCI-P3 IPS LCD.

The LG V30 will also sport a similar display, with today's new pegging the smartphone with 148% sRGB and 109% DCI-P3 Looks like LG's managed to nail down the older sRGB standard and almost matched Samsung with the DCI-P3 as well. DCI-P3 reproduces cinema-esque color on your smartphone's screen. It'll be interesting to see how Apple makes a comeback with the iPhone 8 as rumors claim that the smartphone's OLED is very difficult to manufacture. Thoughts?
