It appears that the Xbox One Spotify app is being deployed and can be downloaded from the Xbox Store later today.

Rumors about Spotify coming to Xbox One surfaced last week when Microsoft’s Major Nelson was spotted using the app. Sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans and Spotify later confirmed that the app would indeed be released on Microsoft’s console.

At the moment of writing, it seems that Spotify and Microsoft are deploying the application. Through the app, players will be able to listen to their favorite music while playing.

Please follow the steps below to configure Spotify on Xbox One:

  1. Fire up your Xbox One and go to the Xbox Store.
  2. Download and install the "Spotify Music - for Xbox" app.
  3. Log in to Spotify or create an account.

The Spotify app is available both free and as a paid ‘premium’ service. Prior to becoming available for Xbox One, the Spotify application for consoles was exclusive to Sony's PS3 and PS4. The exclusivity deal between Sony and Spotify was announced back in January of 2015. "We’ve partnered with our friends at Spotify to bring its award-winning digital music service to PlayStation Network this spring in 41 markets around the world", Sony said upon the announcement.
