According to a popular analyst’s word, Apple is adamantly focused on a pristine iPhone 8 launch. What this means is that the company is eager to successfully complete its objective of launching the iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, even if it means that the OLED-touting flagship is going to be sold in limited quantities.
All iPhone Models Expected to Support Fast-Charging But Will Be Limited to Just Three Colors for Now
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is at it once again where he details the launch of all three iPhone models. While the iPhone 8 is going to launch alongside the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, the analyst states that the flagship is going to be sold in limited quantities. This limited supply could be linked to the OLED supply constraints. Apple has currently tapped Samsung to provide the tech giant with all of its OLED panels for the iPhone 8.
What this means is that Samsung’s production facilities are currently working above their intended capacity and that might lead to an issue in supplies. This could also be the reason why all the iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will be sold in three color models during their launch. Those colors are as follows:
- Black
- Silver
- Gold
Current iPhone models are being sold in a variety of colors so let's hope that Apple adds more flavors after the official launch. All models will also provide support for fast-charging but they will need to be connected to a USB-C power brick while receiving their power from a Lightning port.
The iPhone 8 will also provide support for wireless charging but consumers will have to purchase the wireless charging accessory separately. Pricing of the models has yet to be confirmed, but thanks to the radical design change, the iPhone 8 is going to be possibly the most expensive model to be sold to date. The iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus could be a different story, with the base model starting from $649.
