Nintendo has released Mario Kart 8 Deluxe update 1.2.1 for the Nintendo Switch which seems to address only one issue.
The patch appears to be rather small and only fixes an issue that prolonged the time to return to the lobby after races. You’ll find the official release notes from Nintendo for update 1.2.1 below:

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released for Nintendo’s new platform back in April of this year. The game contains every character, track, and kart from the original Wii U version – including all the previously released DLC – with the addition of new karts, tracks, modes, and enhanced graphics for the Switch.
