Do not expect the Galaxy Note 8 to impress in benchmarks because according to the latest Geekbench scores, the flagship phablet hardly manages to obtain a respectful position in the single core and multicore test results.

Benchmarking Results of the Galaxy Note 8 Does Not Cross the 2,000-Point Mark - Features 6GB of RAM, Which Will Improve Functionality

The single and multicore test results for the Galaxy Note 8 were disappointing, to say the least. The phone only manages to obtain a single core score of 1,984 points and on the multicore side, it is able to cross the 6,000-point mark. It is more than possible that the Galaxy Note 8 will not feature an upgraded SoC and will continue to sport a Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 equivalent chipset, which is not a bad-performing chip by any means.

However, with the rumored price expected to cross EUR 1,000 in Europe, we were hoping that the Galaxy Note 8 would be able to score more than what we’re looking at right now. The blessing to look at from these benchmarking scores is the fact that the Note 8 will come with 6GB of RAM, allowing users more freedom to fire up a ton of apps in succession.

The handset is also expected to come with an IP68 water resistance rating coupled with a dual-camera that will capture images with a shallow depth of field. The Galaxy Note 8’s secondary lens might be a telephoto lens that will feature optical zoom instead of digital zoom to prevent image quality degradation.

The Galaxy Note 8 will most likely be compatible with the DeX Station but we are hoping that Samsung introduces more features with the launch of the phablet. Overall, these scores are disappointing but when the sun has finally set, remember that it is more than just benchmarks that determine the functionality of the smartphone.
